A PLACE FOR ETERNITY How fast the present doth fade from my mind Yet how warm is my heart from the glow of memory Why does my dream take me always so far From where I want to be What is it that destiny Has chosen that I must see? When some in truth say We block out that which we will not see Now still they say It is back we must come To this place called reality This place we try to disguise With pretty colors and fancy styles With many a group of words and facts We try to change our destiny But hope is gone AH! A falsehood those words be For as my pen doth make me see A stranger deep in the caverns Of my mind tells to me That all will be And why or who may he be This drifting ghost Always becoming to me He stands just out of site tonight He is in the dark just darker than he Tomorrow he is in the light so bright I cannot even try and see So it is faith I must have To this thing that drives me on For at no time does it set me free But wrong again I say For when love doth knock at my door Does not the opening of it see My being float past all that I know Into a place that I would have for eternity.
