MEDUSA'S HAIR

Drifting sorrows of past fantasy I despair

That wound around my brain

All the confusion of Medusa's hair

When pulling on a strand

And thinking the end in sight

I curse aloud

When all I find is knots both left and right

But think me not downward cast

For if one was to look upon this plight

From an angle of a slightly different side

They would see

“Let not a trivial bit of subterfuge

Blind thee from thy path”

But put your heart and soul

And your very being into going on

Not to dally on some problem of the moment

Meant for some other to solve

But to travel on

And show the existence of a road

For all to follow

But put no false meaning upon my words

That trail you blaze must be true

True to the heart of the word

It must be as true as its brightest dream

That dream is the dream

Of all who accept a commitment to tomorrow

Out as far as the mind can reach

You must reach

As far as the soul can soar

You must soar

As long as your being has life

You must be

Be as you are

Whether that be stumbling, running or walking

Whether it be failing or succeeding

Winning or losing

That is you

And you are here for a reason

So have faith my friends

Faith in your dream
